Allan Line steamship built 1901 at West Hartlepool by Furness, Withy Co. The Pretorian was used for transatlantic conveyance of emigrants from 1901. Mainly between Glasgow or Liverpool to Canadian ports. She originally had accommodation for 140 first-, 200 second-, and 600 steerage passengers. Taken over by Canadian Pacific Line in 1917.
