Allan Line steamship built 1863 at Greenock by Robert Steele Co. The Peruvian was used for the conveyance of emigrants on the transatlantic voyage from 1864 till 1898. She sailed on different routes between Liverpool or Glasgow to Canadian ports and to Baltimore, Boston, Portland or New York. She had accommodation for a large number of steerage passengers.
