Obdam - ex British Queen

Holland America Line steamship built 1880 at Belfast by Harland & Wolff. This ship was launched for British Shipowners Ltd. as the "British Queen". The ship was operated by the American Line 1881 - 1883. Later also operated as a charter by the Anchor Line and the Inman Line. In 1889 she was purchased by the Holland America Line and renamed "Obdam". In 1898 she was sold and renamed "McPherson" and became a transport ship for the U.S. Army.
