The French Line steamship was launched in 1916 at St. Nazaire. Although construction began in 1913, the ship was not completed until 1921. Operated by the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (C.G.T.), also known as the French Line, the vessel transported emigrants and other passengers between Le Havre and New York. This service continued until 1939, when the ship was destroyed by fire and sank. This image is taken from an old postcard.
