French Line steamship launched by Chantier de Penhoet at St Nazaire in 1865 as the "Nouveau Monde" for Havre - West Indies service. In 1875 she was rebuilt in Scotland, lengthened and third mast added and renamed "Labrador" for Havre - Brest - New York service. On this image she is shown as she appeared just after the rebuilding in 1875. The sketch was made in connection with the visit to Philadelphia in March 1876. In 1886 she was refitted and transferred to Havre - West Indies service. Scrapped at Genoa 1905. This image is from an old stereo photo. For more ship info please see: S/S Labrador.
