Geiser

Thingvalla Line steamship built 1881 at Copenhagen by Burmeister & Wain. On Aug. 14, 1888 the Geiser collided with the Thingvalla, broke in two after 5 minutes and sank, 105 lives lost. This engraving is from an old Danish periodical dated 1882. The original engraving measures ca. 22 x 15 cm. For more ship history see: S/S Geiser
