State of Indiana

State Line steamship built 1874 at Glasgow by Thomas Wingate Co. This ship sailed with emigrants on the route between Glasgow and New York from 1874 till 1891, when she was taken over by Allan Line. The ship had accommodation for about 80 first-class (cabin), 30 second-class (cabin), and 500 third-class or steerage passengers. This image is from an old engraving measuring ca. 23 x 15 cm.
