Canadian Pacific Line steamship built 1906 at Glasgow by Fairfield Shipbuilding & Eng. Co. Ltd. Her sister ship was the S/S Empress of Britain which had been built 1905. These ships mainly sailed with emigrants and other passengers between Liverpool and Quebec. On May 29 1914 the Empress of Ireland collided with the Norwegian steamship Storstad in the St. Lawrence River and sank with the loss of 1012 lives. The image is from an old postcard.
