Belgenland (1)

Red Star Line steamship built 1878 at Barrow by Barrow Shipbuilding Co. The Belgenland (1) mainly sailed for the Red Star Line on the Antwerp to New York service. She was transferred to the American Line and sailed as a charter for that line from 1895. In 1904 she was sold and renamed Venere for Italian Owners. This image is from an old advertising card.
