Carpathia - at Fiume

Cunard Line steamship built 1902 at Wallsend-on-Tyne, England by C. S. Swan & Hunter. On this image the ship is seen at Fiume. In 1912 the Carpathia rescued 705 survivors from the Titanic. In 1918 she was torpedoed and sunk by German sub. U-55 off Fastnet, 5 lives lost. This image is from an old postcard. For more ship history see: S/S Carpathia
