Anchor Line steamship built 1880 at Barrow by Barrow Shipbuilding Co. The Furnessia sailed with emigrants and other passengers between Glasgow and New York. This image is from an old postcard. On this picture the Furnessia is shown as she appeared after the rebuilding in 1891, when her funnels were reduced from 2 to 1. On this image the she does not any longer have the pole masts and sailing rig.
