Beaver Line steamship built 1874 at Glasgow by London Glasgow Co. Ltd. The 3 sister-ships Lake Champlain, Lake Nepigon and Lake Megantic all looked the same as on the ship on this picture, which according to the text shows the Lake Champlain. The ships had lofty tween-decks (steerage) suitable for carrying emigrants. This ship sailed with passengers on the route between Liverpool and Quebec from 1875 till 1885. This image is from an old engraving measuring ca. 24 x 15 cm. For more ship history see: S/S Lake Champlain (1)
