Lessing - post 1882

Hamburg America Line steamship built 1874 at Glasgow by Alexander Stephen & Sons. Originally built with one funnel, but rebuilt with a second funnel and new engines in 1882. In 1888 she was sold to Messageries Maritimes, renamed "Nerthe". For more ship history please see: S/S Lessing.
