Hamburg America Line steamship built 1881 at Walker-on-Tyne by C. Mitchell & Co. for the Carr Line. Purchased by HAPAG in 1888 along wither her sisters, the "Polynesia (1)", "Polaria (1)" and "California (1)". This image is from an old postcard. "Dampfer "Australia" den Hamburger Hafen verlassend".
