Steamship built 1902 at Philadelphia by W. Cramp & Sons for the for Red Star Line. The ship was operated by the American Line 1916 - 1920, and from 1923. This image is from an old photo postcard and show the ship during WW1, presumingly from before the U.S. entered the WW1, as the ship is seen with neutrality marks painted on the hull.
