American Line steamship built 1888 at Glasgow by J. G. Thomson Co. She was originally launched as the City of Paris (2), for the Inman Line. Taken over by American Line and renamed Paris in 1893, rebuilt and renamed Philadelphia 1899. This ship sailed with emigrants mainly between Southampton and New York.
