Inman Line steamship built 1869 at Glasgow by Tod and McGregor. When launched on Aug. 10, 1869 she was the first transatlantic steamer with steam steering gear. On Jan. 7, 1883 she collided with the S.S. "Kirby Hall" of the Hall Line and sank at the mouth of the River Mersey, 10 lives were lost. This image if from n old print.
