Germanic - post 1895

White Star Line steamship built 1874 at Belfast by Harland & Wolff. This ship was the identical sister of the Britannic (1) which was also built 1874. On this photo the ship is seen with the new taller funnels she was fitted with in 1895 when she was re-engined and rebuilt. During the rebuilding she was also fitted with an extra deck.
