Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship built 1886 at Glasgow by Fairfield Shipbuilding Eng. Co. Ltd. The "Trave" was originally built with 4 masts, but in 1896-1897 the ship was rebuilt by AG Vulcan at Stettin, and her masts were reduced to 2, and her two funnels were lengthened. On this old photo the ship is seen as she appeared before the rebuilding, with 4 masts and the shorter funnels. The photo was taken off New York. For more ship history please see: S/S Trave.
