Norddeutscher Lloyd tender at Cherbourg. As the great transatlantic steamships were too big to enter the port at Cherbourg without problems, the passengers were brought back and forth by tenders from the "Gare Maritime". This old postcard shows the North German Lloyd tender "Lloyd" departing with passengers for a waiting steamer off shore.
