Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship built 1907 at Geestemünde by J. C. Tecklenborg. She was first used on the Bremen - Southampton - Cherbourg - New York service. At the outbreak of WW1 in 1914 she was on a cruise along the Norwegian coast and took refuge at Odda. in 1919 she was surrendered to Britain, and was later used as a US Navy Depot ship. In 1921 she was purchased by Canadian Pacific Line and renamed Empress of India after rebuilding. In 1922 renamed Montlaurier and 1925 renamed Montnairn. This image is from an old postcard.
