Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship built 1906. Used as a passenger and cargo steamer on the Bremen/Hamburg - Eastern Asia service. "Dienst: Bremen/Hamburg - Ostasien. Grosse: 9687 Br.R.T. Länge: 155,2m. Breite: 17,5m." The ship had accommodation for 142 1st class-, 187 2nd class- and 557 3rd class passengers. In addition she had a crew of 187 persons. In 1919 the ship was ceded to Britain as war reparation, and in 1920 it was transferred to the Orient Line and renamed Orcades. The image is from an old postcard
